I woke up extra early this morning and ventured out for my very first FastBREAK at the Powerhouse Museum. It’s a 7:45am mini-forum – excellent! “Each month, five sharp young entrepreneurs from various industries tackle big questions with five-minute responses around themes of creativity, commercialisation, collaboration, connections and conversation.” says the Powerhouse Museum. This month’s theme was Design – a nod to Design Week which launches tonight. Hooray! We even had a neighbour speak; Suzanne Boccalatte from the aptly named graphic design studio ‘Boccalatte’ who are two doors down from us. I also had the privilege of hearing from Troy Lum from Hopscotch films, again – last time was at the MCA during Creative Sydney. Nice to see a familiar faces! Happy Design Week Sydney, until next time…

This self taught paper engineer, producing amazing pieces for clients such as Hermés, Sportsgirl & Harpers Bazaar must have amazing concentration and the patience of a saint..
“Paper is my passion…
Through my business, Paperform, I have been dedicated to engineering high-end pop-up books and paper construction professionally for about 6 years now for a variety of applications including: advertising, magazine illustration, fashion, packaging, invitations and fine art.
Paper is such a humble medium to work with. It inspires and challenges me every time I sit down at my cutting mat.
I strive for creativity and perfection in every project I undertake.”

I love love love Tim Burton! Alice in Wonderland surrealism, his visuals and aesthetics are lush. So imagine my delight when i stumbled upon his fantastic website with both public and private gallery! The illustrations are wonderful, the method of meandering around his gallery a delight! Do yourself a favour and check it out at www.timburton.com
