There are 25 days to go until the Gold Week Telethon, held for Sydney Children’s Hospital. Our lovely clients over at 99 on York are getting involved by holding a raffle and donating money from the clubs’ sales to the charity. Each year, Sydney Children’s Hospital in Randwick touches the lives of over 326,000 children across NSW and beyond. Last year, Gold Week raised an impressive $1.68 million for the hospital, which is much needed to help the children. You can read more about the cause here and how you can help make a difference www.goldweek.org.au.
Here are examples of our work for 99 on York’s Gold Week collateral.

I love doing it all at Fresco but one of my favourite things is going on location and shooting for a design project. This was a photoshoot for Bankstown Sports Clubs’ InTouch magazine. We (Andrea) design this magazine for the club bi-monthly and it is great being involved in all aspects of the design. The photographer we are working with is the very talented Chris Walsh from Patrick Jones Studio.

Today on my creative blog trawl, I stumbled upon a cute little animation titled handmade typography by a textile designer who makes cool one off collectable pieces. Her website is called Abundance Of. Check out the animation on http://anabundanceof.blogspot.fr/2012/05/handmade-type.html. Fresco has just ventured into the world of video and video production so I’ve been getting very excited about the creative possibilities available with this medium and look forward to sinking our teeth into a great new video production.

Congratulations are in order for team Creative Method for taking out the pennant in this year’s AGDA Gordon Andrews Scholarship Trivia Night! Thanks to everyone for coming along and making this night a huge success and one of the most fun events on the AGDA calendar.
Well done to James Armstrong from Surveillance for winning the ‘take flight’ competition, once again proving that aeronautical designers do not show up to this event, and congrats to team Interbrand for building the highest structure out of drinking straws in under 5 minutes! But ultimately it was team Creative Method that knew the most about Qantas logos, Pablo Picasso, opera house tiles, barbie dolls, Australian Gladiator and many things in between, winning them a bunch of cool stuff kindly provided by Semi-Permanent, Yaffa Publishing, The Art Gallery of NSW, SABA, Hopscotch Films and a host of other kind contributors.
This was my second year hosting this great night, and I am proud to have been a part of such a worthwhile event supporting a worthy cause: The Gordon Andrews Scholarship is a $3,000 prize awarded to an AGDA student member undertaking inspirational design research through full time study at a formal tertiary program. Proceeds from the night go to fund the Scholarship.
Special thanks to generous sponsors Aquent, Konica Minolta and Adobe. And a big thank you to the AGDA team, especially Xandro Lombardi and Anita Lyons for their tireless efforts. I look forward to hosting this fabulous event again next year! See you all there!

I was doing my usual Monday morning trawl through my favorite creative blogs when my meanderings led me to a UK photographer and fine artist called Natalie Bybisz, you can check her work out at Miss Aniela. Very stylised and surreal, with an edge. I love the rich imagery, lots of layers of detail, the interesting locations and setting. All of this lends a storytelling element to Natalie’s images. Her photography remind me of a Peter Greenaway film (minus the nudity), there’s a real pictorial sense to her images, they resemble a Baroque or Renaissance painting. Here’s a quote from her web site – some Monday morning inspiration for all creatives;
“Photography is always my ‘living’ whether I am working on personal or commercial work, because it is creating that keeps me feeling alive. I pour my mind into everything I create, and always aim to push the envelope with consistently compelling imagery with the highest production value I can make possible. In my personal work I want to stir people to question and to think, intelligibly – about the problems, the beauty, and the conflict between them, in the world around us today.”
