We’ve had a strong relationship with Harris Farm since 2004, when our graphic design agency first helped the company to rejuvenate their brand. From humble beginnings in 1980, Harris Farm have grown into a brand recognised for the exceptional quality of their fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as a range of local and international grocery items. This quality is matched by the company’s affordability, and it is these two values that our graphic designers focused on in our branding and advertising work for the company.
In all cases, we chose to make the produce itself the hero of Harris Farm’s collateral, as the delivery of such high standards is central to the company’s success. In some cases this involved selecting photographic images of key produce, and supporting these images with a simple brown paper motif – a clear signifier of the affordable, local market. However, our graphic designers also introduced a hand-illustrated aesthetic to Harris Farm’s branding. We had much fun in rendering illustrated versions of fresh fruit and vegetables for signage, posters, DL flyers and press advertisements. Combining these illustrations with a hand-written typeface gave a further dimension of home-made, local values to the brand, being evocative of the little notes and pictures kept in old cookbooks.
Over the years since Fresco Creative started working with Harris Farm, we have helped shepherd the company’s branding through a subsequent growth into their grocery, butcher, deli and liquor lines. This also included advertising design and media buying in our capacity as a media agency, however as of 2011 Harris Farm has now established their own in-house team to supply this service
“We needed to bring our image up to the same high standard as our service and product. We were thrilled with the result; Fresco interpreted our brief with creativity and expertise. We would recommend them to anyone looking for an agency to handle their advertising and media buying and look forward to a long and successful relationship.”
