Fresco often produced packaging designs which require UCC barcodes. More often than not, when considering where to place this element, a designer will rank the “real estate” of the design from best to worst and plonk the barcode in something equivalent to “industrial wasteland” in the nether regions of the packet/tin/tub. But if this new idea takes off, it will be quite the opposite!

Japanese designers have been pushing the barcode boundaries recently with these nifty embellishments – and YES they still WORK!
