Graphic Designers love … getting creative!
Being creative is a 24hr pursuit! All the designers at Fresco have little side projects that keep the creative juices flowing outside work hours. Anita does pottery, hand makes beads and is a whiz behind the camera! Here’s a sneaky peek …
Eimear participates (remotely from Sydney!) in Brief Exchange, a bi-monthly collaborative creative project and exhibition in Cork.
Brief Exchange is a group graphic design and illustration exhibition that invites its participants to compose a brief; to be exchanged with another participant’s brief at random.
The aim of Brief Exchange is to give creatives an opportunity to develop and promote their own work without the limitations often caused by clients’ feedback and money. The creative’s target audience should be both themselves and other creatives. The show also aims to create a network for creatives who might not know each other yet. Brief Exchange has been set up and is curated by Noeleen Doheny.
The first show was printed and ran in two venues, one in Cork and the other in Dublin. The second show was solely exhibited online; on this website and the Brief Exchange Facebook page.
The third show is running from November 3rd to 16th, dotted around Cork city in metre wide advertising spaces. A slideshow of all the work happens on Saturday 9th November from 5-8pm which will showcase all the work in one space. A great opportunity for people to meet up and discuss the work.
Andrea loves a bit of furniture restoration, building boats and dapples in illustration. She has a blog of ink drawings and has exhibited as part of the SparkMyLane “Art for cheapskates” Laneway Exhibition for Sparkapolooza another creative brief submission group, based in Sydney.
